Why does my role exist?
The South Australian Contingent is seeking to build a team of talented, dedicated, and enthusiastic Scouting members to support the participation of South Australian members to the 25th Australian Jamboree. Young people looking to develop their skills in management are encouraged to apply, as are experienced supporting adults.
As an Assistant Contingent Leader, you will be part of the Contingent Executive and work with the team for a positive Jamboree experience. You’ll be the voice of young people on our team and lead a youth consultative Patrol across various aspects of Contingent planning.
The Assistant Contingent Leader roles are a key element of our approach to Youth Leading, Adults Supporting for the South Australian Contingent. You will work alongside and be supported by the Contingent Leader and the Deputy Contingent Leader.
This position is available to a young person aged 25 or under at the time of the event. A great opportunity to develop and work towards a Special Interest Area for those who are part of the youth program.
How much time is required?
For the remainder of 2022, expect about 2-3 hours a week as we set up the Contingent Team and commence promotions.
During 2023-2024, you should expect around 3-4 hours a week as we work together to put together the support arrangements for the Jamboree.
Applicants should ensure they have the flexibility in their time to be able to accommodate this significant contribution considering their work and study requirements. They should be available during the lead up to and the full duration of the event. This is a volunteer position.
